I guess his status as front-runner of the month has gone to Huckabee's head. Just as he got some credibility as a straight shooter, he goes and acts like a dork. It's fitting that this has involved immigration, a subject on which all "Serious" and "Presidential" Republicans are required by conventional party "wisdom" to act like a jerk, combined with foreign policy, a subject on which ALL "Serious" and "Presidential" candidates of both parties are supposed to act like jerks.

By the way, the figures say that of non-Latin American nations, Pakistan is sixth, behind Philippines, India, Korea, China and Vietnam. Anyone who is familiar with America ought to know that this statement about Pakistan doesn't pass the smell test- If I had to guess the top five, I probably would have gotten three or four of these right. (I'm surprised about the Philippines, and would have thought the Koreans were more likely to be legal).
The worst part about this is that the statement looks made-up, opportunistic, and manipulative. I mean, who the fuck had the idea of launching into a non sequitur about immigration when talking about the Bhutto assassination? It makes him look just like Bush and Hillary. On the other hand, despite being raised as one, I don't understant today's Republican Party at all. I guess this is why they're going down the tubes.
